Set in South Korea in 1997, during the height of the Asian financial crisis, which wreaked havoc across the region. Amid this turmoil, Gukbo — the country’s number one Soju manufacturer — teeters on the brink of bankruptcy. In-beom (played by Lee Je-hoon), a young and ambitious man representing the global investment firm Solquin, returns to his homeland determined to take over Gukbo.

To carry out his scheme, In-beom disguises himself as a naive consultant and approaches Jong-rok (played by Yoo Hai-jin), the fiercely loyal director of Gukbo, who is desperate to restore the company to its former glory. However, the deeper In-beom delves into Gukbo’s empire, the more he realizes that he’s entangled in a cunning and complex power struggle — one full of twists and turns, leading to an unexpected outcome for everyone involved.
